The most important time to God is NOW!
He gives us 24 hours a DAY, to fellowship with Him, communicating with Him (Hebrews 3:13 Amp.) – But instead warn, admonish, urge, and encourage one another EVERY DAY, as long as it is called Today ( the NOW)….. God speaks to you in the NOW – He is directing you for TODAY or the NOW. It might be that He wants you to contact someone or He might want you to intercede for someone or start planning a new task, maybe a mission trip. Just as with Paul and Barnabas in Acts 13:2 – As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said “Separate to me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. In the very next verse, they left, He needs you to be obedient to the NOW and act accordingly. Satan on the other hand, wants you to waste TODAY (the NOW) by telling you of your yesterdays, your failures and stumbling. He also wants to inject fear into your tomorrows, so you can waste another day in fear. This however is not God’s plan for you! He wants you to do like Paul did in his letter to the Philippians (3: 13,14) – Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, Forgetting those things which are behind (EVERYDAY) and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
This may not sound like a difficult procedure but remember that Paul, in his past was going about killing and having sent to prisons the Christians of that day. Paul knew the importance of staying in the NOW, not letting his mind to be taken off track and feeling like he was forever unforgiven. That he was unworthy of God’s call on his life. He called himself a Bond Servant of God. Acts 10 tells the story of Cornelius and his household, relatives and close friends. Cornelius was a good man, a Centurion in the army and he feared God including all his household. An Angel appeared to him and instructed him on what to do. At the same time the Spirit spoke to Peter while on the roof of a house. He too was told what to do. Now if one or both of them decided not to act on the NOW, Cornelius and his household would not have been saved. Acting in the present brought God’s perfect plan. This is how important it is for us to stay in the NOW and put action to God’s will.
Matthew 6:34 – Therefore do not WORRY about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the DAY is its own trouble – Stay in the NOW, stay in TODAY! Some people so worry about what tomorrow will bring that they miss God’s plan for the NOW! What Jesus is saying here is to take care of TODAY the best you can and believe God for His direction for tomorrow.
Don’t let your past control you. You are not the same as you were yesterday if you have been growing in the things of God, His Word, praying, and walking in Faith.
Don’t let the enemy trouble you about what you have done or not done – Philippians 3: 6 – Be anxious for nothing (EVERYDAY) but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus – TODAY – God has given you the Holy Spirit (Comforter, Councilor, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Helper, Standby – Amplified – John 14: 16) that through Him, He has planted in your spirit man those things which He desires you to do (John 14: 26). These keep focused on and strive to accomplish TODAY! Even if it may take some time to accomplish, see that progression as broken down into daily NOW victories, not letting it overwhelm you. And by all means, DAILY stay in faith, believing God is faithful in His love for you! Live every DAY as though it was your last. Become bold in your words (including your prayers) and your actions. Make good of every minute – EVERY DAY! (Hebrews 4:7b) When God speaks to you, it is not time to turn your ear away from Him.
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit (in each believer) says “TODAY if you will hear His voice (Hebrews 3: 7). God so desires to talk with us EVERYDAY. Are we taking the time to get quite before Him and listening? His small inward voice is the most used way to communicate with His children!
