“I waited patiently for the Lord”  Verse. 1a

It is one thing to wait but to wait patiently is a whole different ball game. While waiting, one can be doubtful and nervous for something to happen. But waiting patiently is waiting for an expected result. One result that is to be held with confidence ( 1-The feeling of being certain that something will happen or that something is true, 2- a relation of trust).
For You are the God of my salvation, on You I wait all the day.
(Psalm 25:5b)

“And He inclined to me and heard my cry.”  Verse 1b
Inclined – we know what it is to recline, like in a reclining chair – you lean back to relax but to incline means to (1- bend forward or to lean forward,
2- wanting to do something or likely to do something). When we cry unto the Lord, we get His attention and while He is sitting on His throne, He suddenly leans forward to hear our cry of words. Once he hears our faith filled cry, He immediately moves into action. You can be assured that He will move because we believe in His character. He has heard our cry!

“He also brought me up out of a horrible pit.”  Verse 2a
He listened, He heard and than He acted! All of us have been in pits during our life, some because of our own actions and some because of the actions of others. (For example; Joseph thrown into a pit by his brothers and Daniel into the lions pit). But God moved on behalf of both.

“Out of the miry clay”  Verse 2b
Miry means thick or deep mud. It is almost like quick sand, the more we move, trying to free ourselves, the deeper we slide down into the miry clay. We need a faithful God!

“And set my feet upon a rock and established my steps”.  Verse 2c
The rock is His Word and we can be assured we can stand when we receive His Revelation Knowledge of who we are in Christ Jesus. No devil in hell can win this battle – the battle is the Lords!

And establish my steps  Verse 2d
My future is bright, the day has come that my words and actions are established. My steps are called by the Lord! (A man’s heart plans his way but the Lord directs his steps – Proverbs 16:9). My steps have already been  established and they lead me every day, from Glory to Glory and from Victory to Victory.

“He has put a new song in my mouth”  Verse 3a
Just like Jesus, I declare what God declares and I say what my Father in heaven says! Today I sing His songs and Praise Him. Today the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart are acceptable to Him, my Savior and my Rock!
A new song for a new day!

“Praise to our God!”  Verse 3b
For He is our all in all! Enter His gates with thanksgiving in your hearts and into His courts with Praise!

“Many will see it and fear”  Verse 3c
The word fear means to have reverence towards Him.

“And will trust in the Lord!”  Verse 3d
Your experiences will be seen by others and it will build confidence in them also. They shall find out that God is no respecter of persons, what He has done for you He will do for others. Your an example to the world of His loving-kindness and tender-mercies.
